Discussion of Online Stock Trading
Online Stock Trading
Online Stock Trading
Online stock trading has brought the joys of trading shares to the masses. More than ever before investors are taking control of their own investments thanks to online trading firms. The new technology not only allows investors to make their own investment decisions but these sites also provide the necessary tools for them to make informed and wise decisions.
Online stock trading has taken the mystery out of the whole securities market for many people. Instead of stock trading being a removed world from Mr. Joe Public, trading is now accessible to all those who are interested in learning what the numbers mean and how to invest their money properly. Most of the online stock trading sites provide in depth information for investors including analyst reports, yearly projections and statistics to help people make sound investment decisions.
With such great resources available online stock trading must be a sure thing for the average investor to invest their money with security, right? Not quite. With the advent of online stock trading came the realization that not everyone is cut out to make wise investment decisions and people who did not know an index from a P/E ratio were rolling the dice with their retirement funds. When many of these would be investors lost heavily on high-risk investments, there was no one to blame for their follies but themselves.. or so it seemed. The practice of law requires all graduates to also be very
creative thinkers and in North America we have bred a society of victims. So, keeping in line with this philosophy, lawsuits were brought against the online discount brokerage firms by disgruntled investors who claimed that the blame lay with the brokerage firms for allowing them to place so many high-risk trades. Hence forth all new and existing users have to sign a memo absolving the brokerage firms for any liability in case of investor losses.
Online stock trading may have its pitfalls, but if done carefully with eyes wide open and a healthy dose of reality, then it is a fantastic way for individuals to exert more control over their investments and ensure that the companies in which they own shares are those that they really want. Some people like the freedom it affords them to make their choices on their terms instead of being pressured into buying what their investors would push them to buy. Online stock trading is fast becoming a way of life for many people and, in time, may just render stock brokers obsolete!
